Jog Falls Tours India

India's second-highest plunge waterfall, Jog Falls is a major Karnataka tourist attraction. Located at the border of Karnataka districts of Shimoga and Uttara Kannada,30 km from Sagara, 104 km from Shimoga and 379 km from Bangalore. the Jog Waterfalls is the state's highest waterfall. Jog Falls is formed by the Sharavathi River, gushing down from 253 meters above sea level. The river originates in Thirthahalli taluk at Ambuthirtha, flows northwest through the Western Ghats forming the Jog Falls before joining the Arabian Sea at Honavar.

These falls are also known as Gerosappa Falls or Jog Falls and are one of the most popular attractions in South India. Second, in a single leap, only to the Meghalaya Nohkalikai Falls, Jog falls about a massive 253 m (850 ft.) deep. Nevertheless, the flow in the falls is greatly restricted before monsoons due to the building of the Linganamakki Dam. The water in Linganmakki Dam is used for electricity generation before the monsoon season and therefore the fall is a very thin stream of water. In the Monsoon season, it is best to go and see the falls in their best form.

Jog Falls summers are extremely hot, whilst the monsoons are the best to visit this beauty. Often, winters are a great time to visit this area, with weather conditions perfect for outdoor activities. Since Jog Falls is a seasonal waterfall, these monsoons are the best time to experience the Falls in their natural shade. Although the place is popular for winter picnics and outings, due to the lack of rains in winter as well as in summer, the beauty of the waterfall is suppressed. This glorious waterfall's magnificence is unmatchable, and it's safe to say it provides a sense of serenity that can hardly be found anywhere else.
