Sree Mahavishnu Temple Mullackal Alleppey, Kerala

The Mahavishnu Temple is devoted to Vishnu and is situated in Thiruvanvandoor, Alleppey. Made in the Kerala mode of construction, the temple is mentioned in the Divya Prabandha, the early medieval Tamil text of the Azhwar saints from the 6th–9th centuries AD. It is one of the 108 Divyadesam devoted to Krishna, an avatar of Vishnu, worshiped here. It is one of the five ancient shrines in the Chengannur area of Kerala, associated with Mahabharata's tale, where the five Pandavas are thought to have put up one temple each.
