According to Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, United Airlines will begin daily flights here to San Francisco in the last quarter of 2022.

Qantas, the national carrier of Australia, will start four weekly flights to Sydney starting September 14, according to a statement released by the airport on Monday. It also provided an update on international flight operations.

It said that two weekly flights to Tel Aviv (Air India), and daily flights from Seattle (American Airlines) were also planned for the near future.

New routes that were opened a few months prior to the outbreak of the pandemic are already reconnected.

It stated that Addis Ababa (connected by Ethiopian Airlines), Amsterdam, (by KLM), and Tokyo Narita, (by Japan Airlines), have been reinstituted from Bengaluru.

Japan Airlines will increase its frequency to Tokyo Narita from three times per week to thrice per week in August. KLM plans to increase frequency on the Bengaluru to Amsterdam route from the current three weekly frequencies, to four times per week beginning next month.

The Kempegowda airport has seen strong growth in international flight operations. It connected 23 destinations around the world in May 2022 — which is the highest rate in South India.

Between March and April, the airport saw 15 percent more international Air Traffic Movements per day (ATMs), while ATMs grew by 48% in May.

The statement also stated that the average daily international traffic rose to 9,300 passengers in the fourth week in May, up from 6,500 in April, and 5,500 in March.
