In a significant boost to air connectivity and a nod to the growing travel demands, Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, has announced the commencement of daily direct flights between Chennai and Singapore starting November 5, 2023. This strategic expansion is set to offer travellers an affordable and efficient way to explore new horizons.
Daily Aerial Bridge to Boost Business and Leisure Travel
Introducing this new route is Scoot’s latest endeavour to provide seamless travel experiences, facilitating easier access to major cities through the Singaporean hub. The service, operated by Scoot’s Airbus A320 aircraft, is designed to cater to the increasing flow of business and leisure travellers from Chennai, connecting them to a vast network of destinations across the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Europe.
Flight Schedule and Enhanced Connectivity
The flight schedule is tailored for convenience:
- TR578 will leave Singapore at 22:20 hrs and land in Chennai at 23:50 hrs.
- TR579 will depart from Chennai at 00:35 hrs, arriving in Singapore at 07:20 hrs.
This new link is expected to strengthen the economic and cultural ties between the two cities, offering a reliable travel option for passengers.
Scoot’s Indian Network Expands
With Chennai added to its list, Scoot’s Indian network now proudly covers six destinations. This expansion reflects the airline’s commitment to the Indian market and its readiness to serve the rising demand for international travel among Indian consumers.

In line with its vision to enhance the travel experience, Scoot is also focusing on improving arrangements for devotees and tourists alike. This includes the recent launch of an online prasad ordering service from the Shaktipeetha Maa Chintpurni Temple, initiated to enrich the offerings to devotees.
