Detailed Itinerary
Arrive at Paro Airport, enjoying spectacular aerial views of the Himalayan peaks. After meeting your guide, begin a scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city, following the Paro and Wang Chhu rivers.
Upon arrival, check in at your hotel. The remainder of the day is free to relax, adjust to the altitude, or take a short evening walk around the town.
Overnight stay in Thimphu.
After breakfast, begin sightseeing with a visit to the Memorial Chorten, a major spiritual landmark where locals gather for daily prayers. Continue to Changangkha Lhakhang, offering panoramic views of Thimphu Valley.
Visit the Takin enclosure to see Bhutan’s national animal, followed by stops at the traditional handmade paper factory and Arts & Crafts School. End the day at Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan’s government and monastic body.

Depart Thimphu after breakfast for Punakha. En route, stop at the scenic Dochula Pass (3,140 m), famous for its 108 chortens and sweeping Himalayan views on clear days.
Continue to Chimi Lhakhang, the fertility temple associated with Lama Drukpa Kunley, reached via a pleasant walk through rice fields and villages. Later, visit Wangdue Phodrang town before reaching Punakha.
Overnight stay in Punakha.
Start the day with a visit to Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most impressive fortresses, located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Continue to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten for valley views.
Later, drive back to Paro with a stop at Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress in Bhutan. Arrive in Paro by evening and check in at the hotel.

After breakfast, begin the hike to Taktsang Monastery, famously known as Tiger’s Nest. Perched dramatically on a cliff 900 meters above the valley, it is Bhutan’s most sacred pilgrimage site.
In the afternoon, visit Drukgyel Dzong, a historic ruined fortress with views of Mount Jomolhari on clear days. Explore the Paro Valley and surrounding villages.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Paro Airport for your onward journey. Depart Bhutan with lasting memories of its landscapes, monasteries, and peaceful culture.
