Jaipur Elephant Festival

Elephant Festival

Kajli Teej Festival

Kajli Teej is another popular vibrant fest that is celebrated with great joy and excitement in Rajasthan. This festival signifies rural culture of Rajasthan. It last for about a month. There are several types of bazaars, and local fairs held at the festival. All these bazaars are filled with a lot of handicrafts, and goods made via local artisans. Dussehra Festival

Sheetla Mata Fair

Another very popular fair held in Jaipur is the “Sheetla Mata Fair”. To attend this fair, you need to travel to a small idyllic village ”Seel-Ki-Doongri”, that lies 35 km away from the main city Jaipur. The fair is organized to please the local deity of the place “Sheetla Mata”. Her temple lies on the top of a tiny hill situated in the village. There is a belief that the fury of the deity caused an epidemic in the village that wiped out everyone from this town several years ago. From that time, the festival is conducted to suppress the rage of the deity. During this fair, villagers put stalls to sell a wide range of locally manufactured goods like clothes, shoes, utensils, and foodstuff. This festival is held in the month of March and April.
