From February 2, Vidarbha Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra will reopen

For wildlife lovers, there is good news! According to an official from the state forest department, all tiger reserves and wildlife sanctuaries in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra will reopen on February 2.

According to a press release from the Divisional Forest Officer, the Pench Tiger Reserve, Bor Tiger Reserve, and Umred Paoni Karhandala Sanctuary opened for visitors on Wednesday. Because of the rising number of COVID-19 infections across the country, all of these wildlife parks have been closed since January 11.

Following the closure of 11 days, Tadoba Andheri Tiger Reserve in Chandrapur district reopened to the public on February 1. Manikanda Ramanujam, the Field Director of Nagzira Nagzira Tiger Reserve (NNTR), ensured that all COVID-19 protocols would be followed and that all visitors would need to be fully vaccinated.

The officials added that it will be the responsibility of the management at these wildlife parks to ensure that guides, gypsy carriers, gate staff, and other personnel are vaccinated. Also Read: 10 Best Places to See Tiger in India

Maharashtra’s Vidarbha region includes Nagpur Division and Amravati Division, with Nagpur as the largest city and Amravati as the second. There’s a national park in Maharashtra’s eastern region called Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, which is also one of the 39 Project Tiger Reserves.
