The inaugural ceremony of the festival is conducted at the Polo Ground with several helicopters releasingnumerouskites, and children releasing several balloons in the sky. There are several key competitions organized during the festival such as the Display Kite Competition, and the Fighter Kite Competition. The last round of the kite flying competition is conducted in the Umaid Bhawan Palace.
