1. Kangla Fort

The name Kangla means dry land in the language of Manipuri or Meetei. Earlier in ancient times, Kangla was the capital of Manipur.

3. Shaheed Minar
Shaheed Minar is in the third position is located in Imphal and is an essential landmark of Imphal. It is located in the Bir Tikendrajit Park, and this park is mainly famous for Shaheed Minar.
It is a tall monument that is built in honor of the soldiers of the Manipur Army. The memorial consists of 3 vertical beams which are blending towards the top side. It is also the sad and proud place of Manipur. When visitors visit this place, they feel sad for the soldiers who died during the war against the British in 1891 and felt pride.
4. Shree Govindajee Temple
It is the vast Vaishnava temple in Imphal. The temple’s design is exquisite and simple, consisting of two gold-plated domes, a paved court, and a large raised mandapa or congregation hall. The center of Garbhgriha has a deity of Govindaji.
During Maharaja Nara Singh’s rule, this temple was built in the year 1846 and was reconstructed by Maharaja Chandrakriti in the year 1876.

5. Sanamahi Temple
The temple is located in Imphal. It is also known as Sanamahi Sanglen. The temple is ancient and is one of the oldest temples in Asia. The temple was constructed by Sanamahism and dedicated to the deity Lainingthou Sanamahi. Visitors often visit this temple and talk to the inner themselves.

The museum is established in Imphal and is the famous museum of Manipur. The museum’s opening was held in 1969 by Indira Gandhi, the prime minister at that time. It consists of a wide variety of galleries that display the beauty of natural history, ethnology, and archaeology.
Every year awareness programs and thematic exhibitions are organized in this museum. The museum opened at 10 AM and closed at 4 PM.

7. Hanuman Thakur Temple
The temple is situated on the bank of the Imphal river. King Garib Niwaj founded the temple in the year 1725 AD. When the temple’s construction started, it was manufactured with brick, but after some time, the temple’s entire building was done with cement coating.
On the temple’s front side, a Mandapa had also been constructed, which helped shadow the temple structure. It was the only temple that was built during the rule of king Garib Niwaj.
