Kishtwar in Kashmir - launched adventure sports activities

Jammu Kashmir tourism launched new adventure sports activities to explore the hidden potential of Kishtwar, Kashmir. This initiative aims to boost tourism. The activities were organized by Kishtwar Development Authority, KDA. Ashok Sharma, the District Development Commissioner for Kishtwar inaugurated them.

Officials claim that Zorbing Ball was introduced on the first day. Other activities such as paragliding, trampoline, and ski jumping will be added in the coming days.

Commissioner Sharma praised the KDA’s efforts and stated, “Kishtwar Township and other areas have tremendous potential for paragliding. This should be exploited to attract tourists.”

Kishtwar is the majestic upland valley, which is located approximately 235 km from Jammu. The tranquil atmosphere surrounding it and its breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains is breathtaking.

This little village is ideal for paragliding, rock climbing, and trekking. The Paddar Valley to Zanskar trek, which crosses the Umasi La Pass, is one of the most well-known treks. Kishtwar has a lot of potential that can be used to boost tourism.

There are beautiful fruit orchards, and plenty of fauna and flora to relax in. Qilla Kishtwar and Machali Mata temple are just a few of the many must-see tourist spots in Kishtwar’s picturesque valley.

Simply stunning are the mesmerizing purple fields of saffron. Their peak bloom time is between October and November. These saffron fields are found in the villages of Bhatta, Berwar, and Hatta.

Locals can often be seen picking saffron at dawn. It is common for the red carpels to become detached from the petals after sunrise making it difficult to handle. One cannot miss the wonderful scent of saffron.

The national park, perched high on the hills, was created to provide refuge for endangered Snow Leopards in India. In 1981, it was designated a national park. Its unique feature is the vivid background with the babbling sound from the river.

The park also houses some of the most diverse and richest flora and fauna in the region, including the brown bear, snow leopard, Musk Deer, and Serow, as well as birds such as the Bearded Vulture and Paradise Flycatcher.
