After being closed for 16 months, Mauritius, a tourism-dependent country, will reopen its doors to tourists vaccinated. This is the second phase of a strategy to attract tourists to India’s island economy. The recovery of the tourism industry depends on the reopening. This is a familiar move for other countries that depend on tourism. It also protects against the possibility of an influx of foreign tourists causing the virus to spread.

After the July 1st reopening in Phuket, Mauritius announced that it would be welcoming vaccinated tourists from around the world starting mid-July.

Its tourism bureau announced the gradual reopening, with the first phase lasting from July 15th through September 30th.

The first 14-day period is when tourists who have been vaccinated must stay at a Covid-19 safe hotel. They can also use the hotel’s facilities and visit the beach.

On arrival at the airport, travelers will have to show an RT-PCR test or vaccinated certificate. But, if you have symptoms, then depending on how long they stay, they may also need to be quarantined for 7 or 14 days.

They can explore the many places if they do not found positive on Day 14.

Mauritius will open its doors to all travelers who have been vaccinated. They can also book safe hotels with Covid-19 and explore the island on their own. Non-vaccinated travelers are allowed to enter the country but must first complete a 14-day quarantine at a hotel.

They will have to pass PCR tests on Days 7 and 14, and if they get negative, they can transfer to another hotel to explore the rest & best places.
