There is a possibility that the marathon will set a Guinness World Record for the first time in the history of mankind at an altitude of 13,862 feet,<\/strong> making it the first marathon ever held at that altitude. That would certainly make the marathon a Guinness World Record.<\/p>\n

Detailed About Pangong Frozen Lake Marathon<\/h2>\n

In February 2023, the first of its kind in India, the Pangong Frozen Lake Marathon, affectionately known as The Last Run, will take place in Ladakh for the first time. Even though the name sounds grim, the issue of global warming and climate change is just as grim. Adventure Sports Foundation of Ladakh<\/strong> is organizing a marathon to raise awareness about the issue of climate change through the use of sports.<\/p>\n

This is the very first 21 km long marathon<\/strong> to be organized in India<\/a>, and the choice of venue is perfect for such an event. Registration for this marathon has already started, and the event is expected to be a great success.<\/p>\n
