Qatar has announced some major travel relief for FIFA World Cup 2022 visitors and fans ahead of the tournament starting on November 20. The Gulf nation announced recently that foreign visitors will not be required to take a COVID test in advance of their arrival.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Ehteraz health registration has been dropped prior to arrival, according to reports. Prior to this, those over six boarding a flight to Qatar had to carry a negative PCR test report that was not older than 48 hours. This was followed by a rapid antigen test within 24 hours of arrival. At the check-in counter at the airport, the test result was required to be submitted.<\/p>\n

As a result of a drop in COVID-19 cases in Qatar and around the world, Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) has now relaxed the said rules.<\/p>\n

The government of Qatar further removed the requirement for all visitors to undergo quarantine if they tested positive for COVID-19 after arriving in Qatar.<\/p>\n

As of November 1, all visitors to Qatar will be required to have a Hayya card, which has become a mandatory requirement. In preparation for the large influx of visitors arriving for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, all visitor visas have been suspended by Qatar. These visas will remain suspended until December 23, 2022.<\/p>\n

As such, those arriving in Qatar during this period will have to apply for a Hayya Card. This serves as a form of Fan ID, through which they will be able to enter the country during the tournament period. Visitors who do not intend to attend the FIFA World Cup matches will also need to obtain this card.<\/p>\n

Qatar is expecting at least one million people to visit during the World Cup. Those who have not been vaccinated will be required to wear masks for ten days following their arrival. Those who have tested positive for COVID-19 will be required to isolate for five days following their arrival.<\/p>\n
