It has been reported that pilgrims will not be allowed to move towards the revered cave from either <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tusktravel.com\/india\/pahalgam-tours\/\">Pahalgam<\/a> or Baltal camps.<\/p>\n<p>To reach the cave shrine via the shorter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tusktravel.com\/india\/baltal-tours\/\">Baltal<\/a> route requires a 14 km trek, whereas those using the more traditional Pahalgam route must trek 48 km for four days.<\/p>\n<p>Due to heavy rains, the authorities suspended the yatra and added that it will be resumed only when the weather improves.<\/p>\n<p>A massive cloudburst on July 8 caused the yatra to be stopped earlier in the month after heavy rainfall on July 5. More than 30 people are still missing and 16 people have lost their lives.
