Five new tourist villages are planned for Kashmir’s Dal Lake<\/a>: Kachri Mohalla, Sofi Mohalla, Tinda Mohalla, Akhoon Mohalla, and a vegetable market.<\/strong> Each village will have accommodation for tourists, as well as basic infrastructure for locals and tourists alike. This project comes under the Tourist Villages Development program, a Mission Youth initiative.<\/p>\n

This initiative will also provide locals more opportunities to earn a living since Dal Lake is already a very popular tourist destination. Ultimately, it will strengthen rural economies in the region. Furthermore, the new tourist villages are likely to be used as filming locations in the future.<\/p>\n

The five new tourist villages are unique in their own way, and their distinctiveness will be exploited so that visitors will have a wholesome experience.<\/p>\n

In Jammu<\/a> and Kashmir<\/a>, many regions lack adequate tourist infrastructure. This new initiative aims to develop all these potential sites in the most efficient and cost-effective manner so that local people may also benefit.<\/p>\n

Local handicrafts and homestays are the most efficient methods. In addition to providing the local youth with proper training, these departments will also assist them in honing their skills and finding ways to find markets for their products.<\/p>\n
