After sixteen months of closing, the State government of Meghalaya officially opened doors to the public for worship.<\/p>\n<p>The state has not immunized even 50% of its population and still has more than 4000 current cases of coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, by permitting religious places in the State to reopen since 16 August, the State government opted to remove restrictions. It was reported that during a review meeting, chaired by Meghalaya CEO Conrad K Sangma, a decision was made.<\/p>\n<p><em>While speaking to the media persons, Deputy Chief Minister of Health and Family Welfare Prestone Tynsong indicated that, with effect from 16th August, all places of worship and religious locations may be reopened.
